Titan Comics and Heroic Signatures Announce New Kull Comic Series for 2027
Kull of Atlantis returns to comics in 2027 with a brand-new series from Titan Comics and Heroic Signatures.
Announced during the Conan Panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, the upcoming series will be written by John Arcudi, illustrated by Mark Buckingham, and colored by Dave Stewart.
Kull #1 is scheduled to arrive in comic shops in early 2027.
Kull Returns to the Thurian Age
Created by legendary author Robert E. Howard, Kull is the literary predecessor to Conan the Barbarian.
Born in Atlantis, Kull survived life as an exile, pirate, gladiator, and soldier before seizing the throne of Valusia. His stories combine brutal sword-and-sorcery action with political intrigue, ancient civilizations, supernatural threats, and the constant danger of ruling a kingdom filled with enemies.
The new series will return readers to the Thurian Age, a lost era populated by kingdoms including Valusia, Atlantis, Commoria, Thuria, Grondar, and Verulia.
An Award-Winning Creative Team
Writer John Arcudi is known for titles including The Mask, B.P.R.D., and Major Bummer. His experience with horror, fantasy, mythology, and character-driven storytelling makes him a strong choice for Kull’s return.
Multiple Eisner Award-winning artist Mark Buckingham, whose credits include Fables, Hellblazer, and The Amazing Spider-Man, will illustrate the series.
Buckingham will be joined by Eisner Award-winning colorist Dave Stewart, bringing additional atmosphere and depth to the kingdoms, creatures, and battlefields of the Thurian Age.
The first promotional artwork shows Kull charging into battle against monstrous enemies, offering an early look at Buckingham and Stewart’s vision for the warrior-king.
