In this world, teenagers known as “Hounds” are trained to hunt down “Leakers”—individuals whose psychic abilities have mutated out of control, threatening the survival of humanity.
Our protagonist, Jabari Booker, is still deeply haunted by the Leaker he was forced to kill in the previous volume. He is a reluctant hero in every sense, struggling to make sense of his duty while grappling with the guilt of his actions. To make matters worse, Jabari’s internal numbers are baffling the academy’s administrators: his “tuning” usage sits at a mere nine percent, suggesting he is an ocean of untapped potential who doesn’t even know how to use his own power.
Enter Vector One and the HellHound
In Volume 2, the stakes reach a breaking point. Following an unsanctioned hunt that ended in tragedy for Delta Team at the local “Stop Shop,” Jabari and Team Alpha are summoned to Floor 6 for a high-level briefing. They are confronted by the academy’s most ruthless force: the Enforcer Division known only as Vector One.
Within their ranks stands Wraith, the infamous “HellHound.” Wraith is a legendary, one-man leaker-killing machine whose name is whispered with equal parts fear and respect. When Wraith gets a scent, there is no stopping him, and his arrival at the academy signals a massive shift in the balance of power.
What begins as a tense meeting between rival squads quickly spirals into a shocking, emergency training session inside the Synthetic Immersion Chamber (S.I.C.). This is a trial by fire designed to expose every weakness, test every friendship, and push Jabari past his absolute limits.
