Marvel’s ‘Jessica Jones’ shows off her superpowers in new Netflix trailer
We’ve already seen Marvel comic book character Jessica Jones work hard and play harder in teaser trailers for the upcoming “Jessica Jones” Netflix series.
Now in the latest trailer, entitled “Evening Stroll,” we catch our heroine taking a midnight walk to work at Alias Investigations, her detective agency in New York’s rough and tumble Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood.
When no one is around, she takes a shortcut to her office by jumping her building in a single bound, just as any superhero would commute. After all, only mere mortals take the stairs.
Krysten Ritter’s Jones has already displayed her superhuman strength by crushing an alarm clock. Her fighting skills are exceptional too. And if her constant whiskey shots are anything to go by, she has the liver of a demigod. After all, if you have superhero powers, you should at least be able to drink your enemies under the table.
But this is the first time we’ve seen her fly several stories up a building without much effort.
According to her comic book origin story, Jones was exposed to an experimental radioactive material in a tragic car accident with her family. The material gave her superhuman strength and the ability to fly, which we’re starting to see glimpses of in these trailers.
In these teaser trailers, she’s most likely played by a stand-in and not Ritter herself. Here’s hoping we get actual footage from the series before it debuts on Netflix on November 20. No doubt fans are still hoping to catch a glimpse of villain Kilgrave (played by David Tennant), Jones’ love interest Luke Cage (Mike Colter), her best friend Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) and a no-nonsense ally named Harper (Carrie-Anne Moss).
